If Only They Could Understand

Imagine we could talk to our dogs and they would understand us and talk back to us. Wouldn’t that be great? Like Brian in Family Guy. Of course, we have other ways of communicating with our dogs, not using our words, but using gestures and intonations. Some people even bark at them, hoping to get some message across.

Of course, as illustrated in this hysterical meme, our dogs have no idea what we’re doing when we bark at them. They’re completely baffled by it. What are the chances that our barking means what we think it means? We always just end up changing the subject, leaving them utterly confused.
