(Dad) Joke’s on You

He was already coming out with the dad jokes, and she shut that right down. I supposed it could be worse; she could have also told him he wasn’t funny. Dad jokes catch a lot of flak, but honestly, I find them rather refreshing. It’s hard not to smile at how awful some of them are, especially when dads look so proud of them.

The painting is a modernized version of Édouard Manet’s Chez le Père Lathuille (At Father Lathuille’s), which is quite fitting for the meme itself. The original is one of his most famous works, and the woman is Mile French, his second muse. The man was a waiter at the restaurant that Manet found “charming.”
