Back in My Day…
Ah, it’s true. While we don’t have to walk uphill both ways in the snow to get to school, living through 2020 was like a lifetime of “What?!” all packed into twelve short months. Well, that’s not exactly true. It bled into 2021 as well. I’ll never forget the great toilet paper shortage of 2020! (Of course, there was never really a shortage, just a lot of unexplained panic).

Funnily enough, this is a painting of a happy monk by famed artist Eduard von Grützner. That’s right. The expression is supposedly one of content. To me, he looks a little fed up with it all, as if one eyebrow should be raised at the audacity of the younger generation to think they had it rough. Maybe I’m projecting.
