Spot the Differences
There’s no doubt that society has changed a lot over the course of 300 years; men and women have changed a lot over the past century, as well as social norms and conventions. Many people today claim that chivalry is dead, and men don’t act like gentlemen as they used to. At the same time, women today have more freedom than they used to have fifty years ago (although that’s also up for debate).

This meme perfectly illustrates some of these changes; in the past, men used to wear robes, stockings, high heels, wigs, and even makeup. Today, apparently, men are afraid that using reusable shopping bags might make them look unmasculine. I’m sorry, but why is saving the planet considered unmasculine? Is being a good person who cares about the environment strictly a female thing?
