#2: The Bermuda Triangle
Ah, yes—the Bermuda Triangle: the invisible threat lurking in the background of every childhood daydream. Back then, it felt like a real and present danger, as if we might accidentally fall into it while playing tag or fly over it on a school trip gone rogue.

TV specials and dramatic documentaries hyped it up like it was Earth’s built-in glitch, swallowing planes, ships, and probably socks, too. Yet here we are, adults, unscathed and nowhere near it—unless you count misplacing your keys or disappearing into a 3-hour nap.
