#31: Michael Schoeffling

If anyone was around for the 80s, they definitely heard of the iconic, coming-of-age movie Sixteen Candles. Michael Schoeffling is probably most recognized for starring in the film alongside Molly Ringwald, as her hunky love interest Jake Ryan. He acted in more movies during the 80s and early 90s, such as Mermaids, Vision Quest and Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken.

However, Schoeffling wound up seeking more consistent work than acting. He had a large, growing family to provide for. He may have continued to act if better opportunities had presented themselves, but ultimately realized the family required him to have a stable job. Currently, Schoeffling is the owner of a woodworking shop where he creates his own furniture!
