Thankfully, she wasn’t in trouble. The man asked if she wanted to take the rug home for free. He had used the rug as a wall tapestry and didn’t need it anymore because he was redecorating. Our storyteller was flabbergasted by this man’s generosity. A gorgeous rug like this would cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars at the store! She graciously accepted his offer. It looks like the rug was a perfect fit for her home!

Because personally, I think that his assumption sounds like a perfectly reasonable one, especially for a kid. But also, if it were real, I would feel really bad for those patients. As though it wasn’t enough to be dealing with one difficult disease at a time, right?

#1: A 1920 Electric Toaster

An electric toaster is a kitchen staple these days. Most of us can’t live without this handy invention. We can thank the advent of electricity for this convenient kitchen tool that gives us slices of perfectly toasted bread. Electric toasters were all the rage in the 1920s because they were a new piece of technology. This vintage electric toaster from the Roaring 20s is a sight to behold.

This toaster is much more elaborate than the ones we have today. However, it served the same purpose! The 1920s was the first time the average family could have an electric toaster in their home. This vintage toaster left the bread exposed, but it was toasted with the metal grates you see in the photo. When the toast was done, you simply turned the knobs on the sides, and the toast flopped out, earning this style of toaster “The Flopper” as a nickname.

We see so many photos on the internet these days, we don’t know what to believe anymore. Certain images shared on the internet appear normal at first, but upon closer inspection, you realize that there’s more to the picture than meets the eye. It’s not exactly mind games, but it could simply be a tiny detail that escaped us, and changes the meaning of the photo altogether or something so obvious that you wonder how you missed it the first time around. Some of these images require a second look, while in others, it’s staring us right in the face. We’ve gathered seemingly-normal photos from across the web, that upon closer inspection, appear as something else completely.

She seems pretty calm

Nothing to see here, folks. It’s a picture of a lovely young lady sitting down with a look of bliss plastered on her face. The guys in the background are staring at her as if there’s something weird going on. Perhaps they’re just jealous of her finding a mental safe space.

Perhaps it was the crazy culmination of events that lead to an action-packed scene and – WAIT – what just happened there? No matter what it is that you may have missed, you’re probably reaching for the remote to hit rewind and pause. Some movies are jam-packed with subliminal messages that are too easy to miss if we don’t pay attention. You might not have even heard of this movie, no reason to feel bad about it. A recent Business Insider report claims Walmart is set to shutter twenty-two of its stores across the United States in 2023. Notable closures include four in Chicago and one in Richmond, Virginia, among others nationwide.

Walmart states the impending closures are attributed to the stores’ lackluster performance. Historically, the company closes stores failing to meet financial expectations. Specifically, the four Chicago locations are closing due to annual losses running into the tens of millions.

Oh, Thanksgiving, that special time we take out of our busy schedules to sit around a full table of fall-themed foods and family to say thanks for all the things we are thankful for. Everybody makes sure to come dressed in their best, and with empty tummies just so they can enjoy the much-awaited spread. There are so many different things that need to get done in the lead-up… But what happens when everything goes haywire? It can be so sad to see people feel deflated after working so hard on their specific dish or activity, for it to not have turned out well. Well, I guess there is always next year, right?

Puppies Love Pies

Is there anything more adorable than a cute little puppy? For some reason, we humans are drawn to these dogs in such a way that it can turn us into people we don’t even recognize. But at the end of the day, all of the mishaps and mayhem they cause are worth it because of how cute they are.

Unless, of course, they eat all of the Thanksgiving pies in one sitting… Everyone loves puppies, but we’re not sure that this person’s family would have been ok with this situation. Sure, you can forgive a puppy for doing something like this, but missing out on Thanksgiving pie is a serious sacrifice.
