It’s no secret that nurses are one of the most underpaid and undervalued populations in the workforce. People are only ever interested in doctors despite the fact that nurses are responsible for a great deal of the care and the treatment that we receive while in the hospital bed.

It’s, therefore, equally unsurprising that nurses receive a lot of abuse. People in hospitals are often stressed, scared, and angry, and I guess nurses are just the most readily available punching bag. Yet it is really appalling that when such abuse gets reported, no action is taken against the perpetrators. Shame!

Prince

This encounter wasn’t with Prince himself but with Prince’s manager. The OP’s grandfather owned an electronics store back in the day, and he would often rent out concert equipment for local shows. One day the store was really busy, and this guy walks in, passes everyone in line, and goes straight up to the OP’s grandpa at the front desk. 

The guy demands help immediately because he’s Prince’s manager; he was probably used to getting special treatment. But the OP’s grandpa had none of it. He calmly explained that this “VIP” manager could get in line and wait like everyone else. When the manager tried to name-drop Prince again, OP’s grandpa was a boss and replied, “I don’t care who Prince is, I’m the king.” Boom.

What the heck was a piano doing in a locker room? Our storyteller goes on to clarify that there were pianos in their locker room. That’s plural. There was more than one piano in their school’s locker room? Maybe their school’s gym doubled as the theater? For some reason, this piano tidbit seems more shocking than the attack on a teacher part of the story.
