The Consequences of Staying Home

A lot of times, we never realize the effects our small decisions have on the lives of those around us. Whether we stay home or go out, or do a favor for family – sometimes the consequences are much more intense than we can ever expect. Sometimes, a life is lost, as was the case for this person.

When they were 15, this person’s decision to stay at home rather than babysit for their aunt and uncle set off a sequence of events that led to their uncle going out alone. The uncle took a shortcut and fell into a river. He drowned because there was no one with him to save him.
