How it Ended

The divorce was finalized quietly, marking the end of Thornton’s first marriage. After the split, Gatlin remained focused on raising their daughter while Thornton pursued a career in the entertainment industry.

However, this somewhat short-lived relationship stirred the press again in 2008 when Thornton’s daughter was convicted of manslaughter. Amanda served nine of her 20 years sentence, as she was released early in 2020 with help from the “Innocence Project of Florida” which stated she was wrongfully incarcerated.
