#13: Orel ‘Bulldog’ Hershiser
Orel Hershiser, nicknamed “Bulldog” for his fierce competitiveness, became a symbol of determination and grit. 1988, despite battling injuries, he delivered one of the most remarkable pitching performances in baseball history.

Hershiser set a then-record with 59 consecutive scoreless innings and carried that dominance into the postseason. His leadership and clutch pitching powered the underdog Los Angeles Dodgers to a stunning World Series victory. He earned the Cy Young Award and World Series MVP honors that year.
