#30: Deceptively Adorable

Here’s a free hint for all the parents out there: if your kid asks for a cup or plate with some kind of strange gimmick like this – cutesy swirly straws, funny shapes, etc. – don’t give in. These things are great to use all of one time before they get gunked up with grime that’s simply not going to come out in the dishwasher and will take forever to sanitize by hand properly.

You’ll spend more time cleaning these cups than you will drink out of them, and even then, you’re unlikely to be able to get absolutely everything out of those straws. If your kid drinks milk from one of these and you don’t get to it immediately? It’s absolutely game over for the straw.
