While most people are afraid of rats, others think they can make great pets. We’re afraid of them because we don’t know a lot about them, and also because pet rats can be quite different than the rats most of us are familiar with – the ones living on the streets, terrorizing cats and carrying diseases.

Mrs. Meesqeaks might change your mind about them: this little rodent likes to bite her human’s fingers, but she does it as a way of showing affection. If her human indicates she’s hurting them, she immediately stops! Also, we think it’s a genius name for a rodent, and we always appreciate a Rick and Morty reference.
