46. Barb

There is no office or any kind of building that has a secretary, librarian or archivist of a different kind that doesn’t have at least one Barb. Barb has been there forever, in fact, she’s been there for so long that she knows the ins and outs and the place more than even her bosses do at this point.

She’s probably running the place but no one knows it. It’s always easy to overlook the slightly overweight middle-aged woman who supposedly just answers the phone for you and keeps track of your schedule, but she knows everything more than you do. She’s really the one in charge.
