#8: Alan Rickman and Jim Broadbent in Harry Potter
Harry Potter super-fans might already know this weird age-gap fact. If you don’t, get ready for a new fun fact to share at parties. We all remember the indelible Alan Rickman (RIP) as Professor Severus Snape in the beloved Harry Potter movie franchise. Actor Jim Broadbent played Horace Slughorn, the former head of Slytherin.

According to the Harry Potter canon, Snape was a student of Slughorn while a young student at Hogwarts. In reality, the casting doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Alan was only three years older than Jim in real life! A three-year age difference makes it technically impossible for Slughorn to have been a professor while Snape was a teen, but oh well. That’s what we call “movie magic.”
