#4: Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club
We all know and love The Breakfast Club as a classic 80s coming-of-age movie. John Hughes was able to capture the hilarity and emotional turmoil of being a high schooler in ways that still resonate today. Of course, we all remember the hate-slash-love relationship between Molly Ringwald’s “popular girl” character and Judd Nelson’s “outcast” character.

At the time of filming, Judd Nelson was a full-fledged adult at 25, and Molly Ringwald was only 16. While this type of casting is still common in Hollywood projects that center around high school stories, it’s definitely weird. Years later, Molly Ringwald rewatched the iconic film with her daughter and realized the way Judd Nelson’s character treated her character did not age well.
