#29: Zooey Deschanel and Will Ferrell in Elf

Zooey Deschanel and Will Ferrel co-star in the hilarious Christmas movie Elf. It’s a classic at this point, so many people don’t think too hard about the real-life age difference between the two stars. During filming, Zooey was only 23, and Will Ferrell was 36. While 13 years is still quite an age difference, it’s not the most unheard-of thing in Hollywood. 

The difference between Zooey and Will is not the biggest age gap to ever grace the silver screen. Therefore, it’s actually not that shocking to most people. Also, Elf is pretty tame when it comes to the romance aspect, so the fact that Will was over a decade older wasn’t that big of a deal. We think this on-screen pairing works pretty well, even all these years later.
