#20: Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway in Get Smart

For some reason, the 20-year age gap between Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell didn’t matter much when they starred in Get Smart. Maybe it’s because most of us know and love Steve Carell as bumbling-but-harmless Michael Scott from The Office. Or maybe it’s because Get Smart was an outrageous and fun comedy. 

Whatever the reason, the pairing worked. Anne Hathaway was in her 20s, and Steve Carell was already in his 40s. Instead of playing her dad, he played her love interest. Kind of weird? Yes. But the flashy graphics and hilarious stunts distracted viewers enough to make the giant age difference a non-issue.
