#14: Lee Pace and Orlando Bloom in The Hobbit
It must have been weird for Lee Pace to play Orlando Bloom’s father in The Hobbit because the two actors are only a couple of years apart. While Lee is technically two years older, their small age difference makes them more like brothers rather than father and son. Still, audiences totally accepted this on-screen family relationship.

The thing is, elves don’t age. According to The Lord of the Rings canon, elves generally stop physically aging when they are 100 years old. So, casting directors technically had to cast two hot actors who were close in age to play Thranduil and Legolas. That’s a pretty convenient loophole. Thanks, J.R.R. Tolkien.
