Mother Goose

Mother Goose is a character that appears in a collection of French folk tales and English nursery rhymes. She takes on different shapes, but evidently, the origins of the character date back to ancient France. Whether or not you’re familiar with the character, the name’s pretty self-explanatory: in the different stories, she takes on the character of a loving mother that flies on a goose or a mother goose.

And often she’s dressed in a pink or purple dress. What costume could be more appropriate for a group of geese? We can’t think of anything. Geese are known for their maternal skills, and some people even say they make better mothers than chicken. The mother goose defends her babies, the goslings, until they learn how to fly and can fend for their own.
