Time To Hold a Séance

In addition to writing, I do a lot of editing, so I really enjoy looking at a really ridiculous editing fail. Unless I look at it and think that it’s a mistake that I could see myself making, in which case it just stresses me out. And this one just cracks me up because there were so many points where this could have been caught.

It’s my understanding that editors often come up with the headlines for pieces, so we can’t necessarily blame the journalist. But the copy editor didn’t notice how silly this was, or the newspaper editor, or the person who laid it out, or the person who did the printing… they had a lot of chances to catch this, and they missed all of them.
